Wagyu Index buys and sells Wagyu genetics as principal. We own the positions we offer, publish why we hold them and earn our return through the trading margin—not by pretending to be a neutral adviser.
The gap we are interested in.
The industry’s genetic evaluation is the essential starting point. But a breeding decision also has to account for the female group, the commercial objective, relatedness, other credible evidence and price.
Wagyu Index exists to take a view on that combination and put capital behind it. Some positions will be right. Some will not develop as expected. Our obligation is to show the basis of the view, state the limits and update it when evidence changes.
Who approves what we publish.
Every purchase, public position and material claim is approved by the principal before it appears here. Approval dates are shown on position pages.

The Index is our view, not the industry’s.
The name describes our house view of relative value: what we believe genetics may be worth in a particular commercial context and at a particular price.
It is not an Australian Wagyu Association index, an independent benchmark or a claim to replace the industry’s genetic evaluation.
How the business makes money.
We buy genetics into our own book and sell them at a margin. We may also buy material offered directly to us. If the business later introduces brokerage, commissions, finance or paid analysis, those interests will be disclosed separately before the service is offered.
Wagyu Index is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Australian Wagyu Association. AWA names, animal records, WBVs and selection indexes remain attributable to the Association and their stated sources.

Questions about Wagyu Index
Does Wagyu Index own the genetics it offers?
Yes. Unless a page explicitly states otherwise, published positions are owned by Wagyu Index's legal trading entity. We disclose our financial interest because we may profit if the genetics are sold.
Is Wagyu Index independent?
No. We are a principal buyer and seller. Our official-data references are attributed; our interpretation is our own commercial view.
Is the Wagyu Index an AWA selection index?
No. The name refers to our house view of relative value. It is not an Australian Wagyu Association selection index or an industry benchmark.
Are you affiliated with the Australian Wagyu Association?
No. Wagyu Index uses and attributes official AWA information in accordance with the applicable access and use terms. It is not endorsed by the Association.
