What this site is

This site is published by Wagyu Index. It describes genetics we own or may own, the basis of our view and how to deal with us. It is information, not an offer. A transaction happens only under a written quote and agreed terms.

Our interest

Wagyu Index buys and sells genetics as principal. We own the positions we describe and may profit from their sale. Nothing on this site is independent advice, an Australian Wagyu Association evaluation or recommendation, veterinary advice, or a guarantee of progeny performance.

Official information

Australian Wagyu Association names, animal records, Wagyu Breeding Values, accuracies and selection indexes belong to their stated source and may change as information is added. We show the date we checked a record. Check the current official record before relying on a value.

Your decision

The joining decision is yours. Whether genetics suit a program depends on the females, relatedness, management, environment and the outcome being bred towards. We will tell you when we think a position is not a sensible fit, and we will not guarantee an outcome.

Quotes and transactions

A written quote states price, GST, freight assumptions, validity and terms. Material is released only under the agreed terms. Identification, storage, collection and health documentation and destination requirements are confirmed before release.

Content and accuracy

We take care to be accurate and we date material changes rather than quietly overwriting them. If you find an error, tell us and we will correct it on the record.

Use of the site

You may read and link to this site. Do not copy the library at scale, describe our view as if it were independent advice, or use anything here to imply an endorsement by the Australian Wagyu Association.
