What we hold.
These are not breed rankings or independent recommendations. They are positions Wagyu Index owns and is prepared to sell. We publish the basis of each view so you can assess it against your females, production system and commercial objective.
The ledger is being verified.
We hold Wagyu semen in Australian storage. We are reconciling identification, quantities, current records and sale documentation before publishing individual positions. If you have a specific requirement in the meantime, tell us what you need.
The position is only the start.
A sire can look attractive in isolation and be wrong for the females in front of it. Before quoting, we will ask what you are joining, what you are trying to improve, what you do not want to give away and how many straws you need.
Common questions about positions
Does Wagyu Index own the genetics it offers?
Yes. Unless a page explicitly states otherwise, published positions are owned by Wagyu Index's legal trading entity. We disclose our financial interest because we may profit if the genetics are sold.
Do you publish straw quantities and prices?
Only where the ledger and disclosure are approved. Otherwise a position is shown as held and availability is confirmed before a written quote. Prices state whether GST and freight are included.
How do I know whether a sire suits my females?
Start with the objective and the female group. Relevant WBVs, pedigree, relatedness, genetic conditions and the traits that must be protected all need to be considered. We can explain the case for a position we own, but the final joining decision remains yours.
Can you guarantee progeny performance?
No. Genetic evaluation estimates genetic differences; it does not guarantee an individual outcome. The females, mating, management, environment and production system also matter.
